Heidi Montag has altered her identity yet again -- sans plastic surgery this time -- after she and Spencer Pratt decided to give themselves "true native-American names" in an effort to become more spiritual.

So ... goodbye Heidi and Spencer ... hello White Wolf and Running Bear, respectively.

A rep for the couple tell us Spencer decided to give up his previous moniker, King Spencer, because it was "too much of a burden to have to carry the weight of royalty. "

Instead, Running Bear claims, he and Heidi "are getting more in-tune with our spirituality ... and will be known as the name our creator has given us – our true native-AMERICAN names."

Ummmm.........Thank God I stopped watching The Hills when Lauren left. I wish these two would just GO AWAY. However, I know that reading the article and reposting it ensures that they never will. ARGH!!!! The vicious cycle of it all!

Posting here because I feel safe from FB "retaliation".

There are a ton of my friends on FB that have photos of their ultrasounds or small babies as their profile photos and when they get engaged in conversations with each other, it can become quite unsettling. Sometimes I feel like I'm watching the Village of the Damned children in very, very adult conversations.

That is all :)

A weekend of surprises...

One very very bad and one very good.

The good surprise is that while I was working on paperwork at the shop Saturday morning, a truck pulled up and out of the corner of my eye I saw a woman carrying a toddler head for the door. It was MONICA!!!! That sneaky little shit didn't tell me that she was coming to town! I was so surprised to see her, I just kind of stood there (after a huge hug of course)dumbfounded. She came over for about an hour last night with Peyton, who is about the cutest thing on two feet, and we were able to catch up a little. Hopefully we can get together later this week for some wine and whine. Also, I think we may go out for a little bit on Friday. We'll have to wait and see though.

On the very very bad side of things, I guess it wasn't a surprise so much as it was a horrible shock. Friday night, there was a knock on the door and when I checked to see who it was, they were already walking down the driveway to their car. I saw another car pull up to a stop on the other side of the street and that's when I noticed the dog. Our neighbors black lab mix was lying on its side at the very front of our lawn, by the street, and had been hit by a car. James grabbed the phone and started calling the vet as we ran out to help. Unfortunately, the vet was out of town and the emergency number listed was an out of state cell phone and James had to go back to the house to write it down to recall. I ran back into the house to grab a towel to help keep the dog warm, but by the time I got back out the dog had started to slip away. James had gotten ahold of the temp. vet who agreed to meet Sandy and Ron (our neighbors) there, so we loaded their dog into Sandy's truck...just in case. I saw her later that evening and she told me that he hadn't made it. It was just so horrifying. I've never seen anything like that before. To see her saying goodbye to him, that she was sorry, telling him what a good boy he was, and that she loved him...it was fucking heartbreaking and it brought me right back to the back room of the vet's office when we told Sierra that we loved her, that she was a good girl, and that we were so so so sorry that there was anything else we could do for her. It kills me now to write it. I just felt so bad for them, their kids, the woman who had hit him (and rang our doorbell), for everyone who has had to lose a pet. I drank too much wine after that and tried to get the image of that dog, dying in our front yard, out of my mind.

It didn't work.

Okay...I may be WAY behind on the curve here, but if you guys haven't checked out this website, it's seriously some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen. No, it's not very nice because it takes advantage of things people put on the internet (sometimes in private profiles, facebook, myspace, etc), but, nevertheless, because we all know SOMEONE that acts this way....it's freaking hilarious.

Hmmm.

The CVTC weight loss challenge hasn't been super successful in terms of dropping pounds (I've only lost 4 to date), but I've been working in the yard a lot and working out three times a week and, as a result, my tushie seems to be smaller...at least according to these pants.

Hmmmm, indeed.

So last night, I went to bed super early (8:30pm) and set the alarm for 5:15am. I woke up minutes before the alarm, turned it off, and got started on my getting ready for work routine. I had turned on the shower to let it warm up when I realized I needed a towel from the linen closet.

I opened the bathroom door and saw James dashing towards me. I asked him what was wrong, because I was afraid he was sick. He just stopped dead center in the room, stared at me, and asked, "What are you DOING?" I was totally caught off guard, so I asked him, "What???" Same thing. "WHAT are you DOING?" I told him, "Uhhh, I'm getting ready for work." And, of course, because I thought he was acting like a weirdo I might have said it a little (just a touch!) snotty. He then looks at me like I've lost my mind, points to the alarm clock, and says, "It's 1:55 in the morning!"

Oh.

Turns out he though I was sick or fevery because I was running a shower at 2am, which is pretty understandable. Needless to say, I tried to get back to sleep, but slept like crap until my alarm actually did go off.

However, the day took a fantastic turn when Jenn called me this morning to tell me her ultrasound looks like she's having....a GIRL! Yippee!!! It's been all boys from my close friends and family members until this, so I'm thrilled that not only will Jenn be having a daughter, but that I will finally be able to buy/make some cute baby girl stuff. Let's just hope this baby isn't playing tricks on all of us!

So, obviously from the first post, the animals have been the subject of impromptu photo shoots ever since the new camera arrived on Friday. Bob, as you can see, is totally unimpressed, while I think Jack is just hoping that the extra attention will result in more food. I can't believe how damn FAT he looks! He gets 1/2 a cup of food a day (same as Bob), but I promise, he's really really REALLY fluffy! :)

Our grand-niece Aubri celebrated her first birthday Saturday. She is one cute kid! I forgot the camera at home, otherwise I'd have posted so pics of her manhandling her cake. Kelly graduates in May, but I'm not sure what her plans are afterward. We're so happy that she was able to finish school and continue cheerleading while raising Aubri. I can't imagine how tough it must have been!

Easter Sunday was good. We went to the Baptist church for the service and then out to mom and dad's for Easter dinner. It was quite yummy and we had a good visit.

Forgot to mention that Ethan is now 4 years old. FOUR! I can't believe it. He's such a cutie, but man oh man, is he a handful!

Before I sign out and don't write again for about 6 months, I should mention there is a new blog thingy in the works that I update a bit more than I do here. It's at http://jandrsmith.blogspot.com/

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!
